About RENT (Tickets Below)

Looking to hone your vocal technique in a supportive and professional environment? Do you have a song you’d like to polish for an upcoming audition? Join us Sunday June 9th (select from morning or afternoon sessions) for this interactive masterclass with one of Atlantic Canada’s most accomplished vocal coaches, Heather Flemming-Kelly of Atlantic Vocal Arts!

Attendees may choose to participate with their own song selection for one-on-one coaching OR you may choose to audit the class as an audience member (please be sure to purchase the appropriate ticket at checkout.)

Participation slots are EXTREMELY limited so be sure to secure your ticket early. There will be a morning session starting at 10:30am and an afternoon session at 1:30pm. Tickets are specific to ONE session only.

GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPANTS

Song Excerpt Length:

Please prepare an excerpt from your chosen song that is under 3.5 minutes in duration. This ensures that each participant has ample time to showcase their vocal abilities effectively. You are welcome to just sing 1 verse and chorus if time is an issue.

Song Selection:

Singers are encouraged to select a piece from the musical theatre genre or a song that best highlights their vocal range and abilities.

Advance Submission of Tracks & Sheet Music:

Prior to the masterclass session, please submit your chosen song track and PDF sheet music to info@sparkcall.ca by June 7th at 4pm. Each verse and chorus of the song should be time-stamped in the email to facilitate revisiting certain sections, efficient feedback, and discussion during the session. (If you would like Spark Call to source and provide your music, we can do so for a $5 fee. Please select this add-on with your event ticket should you require this option.)

Recording Policy:

Participants are permitted to record their own performance of the masterclass session, but this is only permitted by the singer involved. This policy ensures a comfortable and respectful learning environment for all attendees. Any recordings from the class are NOT to be posted publicly.

Q&A Session:

At the end of the masterclass session, we will address some frequently asked questions from participants and attendees on vocal health, vocal technique, performance questions, auditions etc.

If you have any questions that you’d like answered, please submit them in your registration form (we will not share your name with the class when answering questions.) We’ll do our best to address as many questions as possible during the session. Thank you for your participation!

GUIDELINES FOR OBSERVERS

Those who choose to audit the class are welcome to take notes as well as participate in any group warm ups, exercises, and the Q&A session. Observers will not be able to bring a song selection to receive one-on-one coaching. If, however, a participant slot opens up, we may be able to upgrade observers. Please have a song selection in mind should that be of interest to you.

*PLEASE NOTE: All participants will be singing in front of each other as this is an open class. All participants are expected to show the utmost respect and attention to their fellow singers and instructors. Attendees are asked to be in the room at least 10 minutes BEFORE their session begins. Please bring water, snacks, paper, pencils, and anything else you would normally bring to a rehearsal or class. We can’t wait to work with you!
